The Asian Development Bank Institute was the organizer of the event on one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time.
Saule Zholdayakova, Acting Head of the KMGE Competence Center for Hydrogen Energy, Head of the Hydrogen Technology Research Laboratory, joined the guest speakers at the “Green Hydrogen in the Fight Against Emissions” online panel discussion at the International Conference Applied Energy 2022.
She addressed the topic “Towards hydrogen economy in Kazakhstan” based on the research work of the team from the Competence Center for Hydrogen Energy and the Hydrogen Technology Research Laboratory.
The panel discussion will address the prospects for implementing and developing the hydrogen economy in Asian countries, which have a large hydrogen export and import potential. This time, researchers, representatives from Japan, Singapore, China, and Indonesia, as well as Kazakhstan, took part in the discussion.
– The Climate Crisis is the greatest challenge our generation has ever faced. Mitigation efforts are underway at the national, state, and local levels, as well as in the private sector, all over the world. Green hydrogen is the future’s preferred fuel. It is produced by the electrolysis of water with zero-carbon electricity. However, today’s green hydrogen producers face enormous challenges, such as cost and economics, infrastructure constraints, and the risk of water scarcity in certain regions, – S. Zholdayakova believes. She shared this opinion in a panel session.
