Employees of the PVT Competence Center of KMG Engineering have completed training in the “Formation Fluids” module of the ABAI IS

14 professionals from two branches and the head office for 5 days studied the directions: “From sampling to simulation of reservoir fluids properties”, which was conducted by an expert in the field of PVT, lecturer Pavel Guzhikov and acquired skills within the module “Formation Fluids”.

During the training, the participants were acquainted with the functionality of data uploading from different formats with quality check of input parameters in order to exclude errors related to human factor. According to Klara Kunzharikova, Head of the PVT CC, the developed functional of data uploading makes it possible to perform data export operations both in the approved formats and in arbitrary ones (created by the user).

– The main advantages of the developed module are quick access to data on physical and chemical properties of formation fluids, varying degrees of detail of unloaded information (by sample, by object, by field), extraction of current information on the approved parameters of the formation fluid, – says the Head of the Competence Center.

The modular structure allows this project to integrate with other ABAI IS modules under development. The information stored in the unified centralized database will also be used in other modules and corporate solutions, which will make it possible to build a unified information chain for data processing – from sampling to modeling. The introduction of the “Formation Fluids” module will ensure the use of common values of the basic physical and chemical properties of formation fluids in the group of companies of NC KazMunayGas JSC when calculating reserves, compiling design and technical documentation, developing fields and accounting for hydrocarbon production, as well as ensuring the timeliness of design work and improving their quality. Automation of data collection, uploading, downloading and processing of information on formation fluids from the laboratory to a digital database, with the implementation of quality control parameters will reduce the time for collecting and organizing primary data, will automatically generate reports, uploading ready-made charts and tables, required for design and technical documentation.

The “Formation Fluids” module is part of a unified system aimed at centralization, standardization and unification of data. In the near future, it is planned to carry out industrial introduction at one of the subsidiaries of NC KazMunayGas JSC – KazakhoilAktobe LLP. According to the results of the training, the employees of the Center were awarded certificates on behalf of KMG Engineering management. Iliya Vasiliyev, one of the leaders of the project of the ABAI IS and the Center for Information Technology Development of KMGE, made a welcoming speech at the award ceremony. He wished all those present success and enjoyable work in the practical application of modern analytical tools of the “Formation Fluids” module.
