Kazakhstan Round Table on Drilling Issues

In 2015, the Drilling and Well Repair Unit of the TDB Research Institute (now KMG Engineering), together with TMG Worldwide, with the support of JSC NC KazMunayGas, organized the 1st Kazakhstan Round Table on Drilling (KDR), which is addressed to the direction of ways to form the strategic success of the drilling industry in Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstan round table has become the largest gathering of drilling professionals in the Republic of Kazakhstan. About 300 representatives from more than 100 companies operating in the sector take part in it annually. The fifth forum “KDR – Well Engineering” was held in 2019 and after analyzing the results of all the Kazakhstan round table, the organizers of TMG Worldwide optimized the forum in all aspects and attracted more delegates to participate in it thanks to the comprehensive support from KMG Engineering.

The thematic coverage is very wide – from drilling technologies, completion and stimulation of wells to issues of well integrity assessment, production and enhanced oil recovery (EOR). The equipment used on drilling rigs is also discussed, starting with the upper drives and drilling pipes and ending with power supply and control systems.

The KDR forum is held in a mixed format, organically combining conference presentations, with discussions, on the principle of a round table, with mandatory communication in the “question-answer” mode, in which all delegates can participate. A small number of exhibition stands are organized for those who want to present the news of the upstream oil and gas sector.

The event quickly became a mandatory item on the annual agenda for representatives of the top executive and technical management of the largest operators, service companies, drilling contractors and equipment suppliers.

The Forum sets guidelines for the future development of the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan and allows international companies to build long-term business relationships with key players in the Kazakhstan oil and gas market.
