TCO, NCOC and KPO Specialists Hold a Joint Meeting at the Atyrau Branch of KMG Engineering LLP to Exchange Experience

On 9 July 2026, the Atyrau Branch of KMG Engineering LLP hosted the first joint seminar bringing together representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s three largest oil and gas operators: Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO), North Caspian Operating Company N.V. (NCOC) and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO).

The initiative to establish this unique cross-industry platform originated from the operating companies themselves. The country’s largest subsoil users joined efforts to establish a systematic exchange of advanced experience, technical solutions and industry best practices.

The primary objective of this collaboration of the major operators is to provide an open forum for discussing the current and non-standard challenges the companies face in developing of the country’s most complex oil and gas fields.

The joint session focused on the fundamentals of any oil and gas project – its core geological aspects. Experts from TCO, NCOC and KPO discussed common approaches to studying the geological structure of oil and gas fields, as well as international best practices and methodologies in geological modelling and geological risk management.

Hosting this landmark meeting at the Atyrau Branch of KMG Engineering LLP reaffirms the institute’s role as a leading research and technology centre, able to bring key market players together around the shared challenges facing the oil and gas sector. Expert sessions of this kind can provide a strong impetus for the further development of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry.
